TOWNSHIP OF NORTH GLENGARRY
EVENING OF EXCELLENCE
The nomination criteria for each category are noted below. Please read the criteria prior to filling out the form. Please only fillout one nomination per submission.
THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS IS MONDAY, JULY 28, 2025 AT 4:00 PM.
NORTH GLENGARRY EVENING OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS NOMINATION CRITERIA:
• Businesses must be located in North Glengarry.
• For group awards the group must be based in North Glengarry. Volunteers with the group may reside outside the Township limits.
• For all other awards the individuals must reside in North Glengarry.
• The agricultural farm or family must be located in North Glengarry.
1) CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD (Individual) This award will be given to a Citizen of North Glengarry who provides an outstanding contribution to their community. The achievement may include community service, business, or industry labour, sports, art, culture, education, heritage conservation or environment.
2) COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD (Group) This award is given to a group that has made special efforts to be involved in North Glengarry, helped the community achieve some of its goals over the past year, contributed and demonstrated excellence in their community and enhanced the well- being of its citizens.
3) BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD This award is presented to a Business in North Glengarry who has demonstrated superior service to customers and to communities, excellence in business management, and extra effort towards the betterment of the Township of North Glengarry.
4) EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURE AWARD This award is given to an outstanding agricultural farm, family or organization who has demonstrated excellence in areas of agricultural operations and business management as well as participate in the betterment of the agricultural industry and the betterment of North Glengarry.
5) YOUTH OF THE YEAR AWARD This award is given to a younger citizen of North Glengarry to recognize special contributions to their community. The youth must be aged 18 years or younger as of June 1, 2014, demonstrated leadership and dedication towards the community, and participated regularly as a volunteer in community projects (NOTE: the 40 hrs. required of community service by high schools is NOT included in this category).
6) NORTH GLENGARRY LEADER UNDER 40 AWARD This award celebrates the outstanding achievements of young leaders who are making a meaningful impact in North Glengarry. This award recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to public service, community development, or cultural preservation.
7) CHAMPION OF CULTURE AND HERITAGE AWARD An award for an individual or group that has demonstrated a focus on preserving and celebrating heritage, fostering community pride, encouraging conservation, and highlighting the richness of local history and culture.
8) LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD This award will honor an individual citizen of North Glengarry for a lifetime of volunteerism and dedication to helping out in their community. The nominee is a long time resident of North Glengarry who has demonstrated and committed themselves to the betterment of life in their community.
